My best self

We are obligated to be the best versions of ourselves. I say this because time is valuable. Every day people seek a little bit more time to do what they wanted. This need for more time will not come. Lately, I've felt this need to do more. This is because I will maximize my potential and use the skills I was put on this earth with. Here are few things I've done to be the best version of myself recently.
  1. Enhancing my existing skills

Two weeks ago, I was able to help Brittany King launch her new blogging website, heyitsbkay.com. This project was a result of a personal vision Brittany had to fine tune her brand, share her opinions and fulfill a vision she's had in her mind for awhile. This project allowed me to understand how color, text, layout and landing pages contribute to the feeling of a young brand. Heyitsbkay.com successfully launched her blog with thousands of visitors on July 3rd and has already seen organic search traffic.

  2. Exploring my creativity

I don't fall into the 'creative' camp. Vision is what I bring to the table. I started a t-shirt design project as a way for me to combine images and culture of alternative black men. You can find my BLK BOY JOY shirts on Amazon with Black and White Text.

  3. Get involved in communities where people have passion
In Missouri, community building is key. I started an Instagram page just to share cool things I find or see in Missouri. I re-purposed the page to share posts from people throughout Missouri. It sees increased engagement rates and is an overall fun project just finding unique things people normally don't see in the state.
I hope you've enjoyed reading about some of the things I do in my free time to be the best version of myself. Staying engaged, having fun and learning are things I do to be myself. Being afraid to try new things doesn't bother me. It keeps me excited and engaged!
