Where will WWE host their events going forward?
I believe WWE is going to switch to a model where Wrestlemania will switch between the U.S. and an International Destination every other year. If they're honoring their existing U.S. commitments AND commit to bringing Wrestlemania to new international markets this is what I would expect:
Vegas (42/'26), Saudi (43/'27), Indianapolis (44/'28), Perth or London (45/'29), Nashville (46/'30), London/Paris/Perth (47/'31), New Orleans (48/'32)
TKO's obsession with "site fees" leaves all of this up to debate. WWE/TKO may shift some of their wrestlemania commitments in the U.S. to being Royal Rumbles, SummerSlams or Elimination Chambers.
I think New Orleans and Indianapolis are the most likely to get a shift of their existing arrangements. I would expect Indianapolis to get two major events in one year to make up for the loss of a Wrestlemania (e.g. Rumble and SummerSlam). WrestlePalooza is their first test of this possibility. I can't think of the last city to get two PLEs in one year. Indianapolis is one of the few major cities with the capacity to host a major convention/stadium events twice in one year.
Chicago's completion their indoor NFL stadium and the Bears ownership making a bid for Mania would shift these commitments substantially. Chicago hasn't had a wrestlemania since 2006. WWE will commit to running Wrestlemania in Chicago before AEW would hold a show there. If WWE do not, then it would likely be a representative of TKOs financial priorities (e.g. site fees). I do not foresee AEW going first. And yet AEW has proven time and time again that the "unthinkable" is possible. I believe AEW could legitimately fill a stadium in Chicago.
I think SummerSlam/Rumble could go international and we may see a shift in these predictions to honor their commitments with SummerSlam as the replacement.
Notes:
Perth seems to be a near guarantee in the next five years with the way things are trending in that country. Australia, when they have WWE shows always get major shows.
I would not be surprised by TKOs attempting to do Wrestlemania in two or more cities in the same year (shifting to the model AAA has used for TripleMania. I could see them using the TripleMania brand as a way to present a Wrestlemania caliber show without formally diluting the Wrestlemania brand.
I don't think "site fees" are the future of WWE's PLEs. I do think WWE will not be paying to get into the building (for any show) in the future.
