Review: Love & War by Mast

This post originally appeared on Dave's Music Bin.

Late last night I was browsing through Soundcloud and came across Love & War by Mast. This is a contemporary Jazz Album that's deeply layered with a variety of instrumentals and vocals. The album is broken up into three parts that tell the story of finding & falling in love, losing love and letting go. The sophisticated project is a mix of medleys that will strike a cord with your past. The second part of this project is full of raw emotion and spans from track 5 "She's Chasing the Dragon" to the end of track 13 "Me & You." The latter part of this album is an extensive transition of emotions such as love, fear, anger, and pain.

I would encourage you to check out "Should've Swiped Left" an elaborate discussion of a culture where love is easy to access. The vocals dropped by The Koreatown Oddity on "Should've Swiped Left" are passionate and a near plead for genuine discussion rather than the baggage that can come from relationships that millennials often experience.

Until my next post, you can follow Mast on SoundCloud and on Twitter.
